Tutorial steps

Step 1
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 1

String 2 gold 11/0 seed beads, 6 blue 11/0 seed beads, 2 gold 11/0 seed beads, 2 blue 15/0 seed beads, 6 white 15/0 seed beads and 2 blue 15/0 seed beads. Pass through all the beads, keep 30 cm of thread and close your circle with a double knot.

Step 2
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 2

Pass through the 2 gold 11/0 rocailles from the beginning and start the circular peyote. To make Circular Peyote, add a bead and don't pass through the next bead of the round before, but through the second bead. As with classic Peyote, one bead is skipped each time. Here are the beads for turn 2, to be woven one by one. Add 1 gold 11/0 seed bead, 1 blue 11/0 seed bead, 1 blue 11/0 seed bead, 1 blue 11/0 seed bead, 1 gold 11/0 seed bead, 1 blue 15/0 seed bead, 1 white 15/0 seed bead, 1 gold 15/0 seed bead, 1 white 15/0 seed bead, 1 blue 15/0 seed bead and weave through the 2 gold 11/0 seed beads.

Don't overtighten your work so that the spiral isn't too rigid.

Step 3

Round 3: 1 golden 11/0, 1 blue 11/0, 1 golden 11/0, 1 blue 11/0, 1 golden 11/0, 1 blue 15/0, 3 times 1 white 15/0, 1 blue 15/0, and pass through the 2 golden 11/0.

Step 4

Round 4: 1 x 11/0 gold seed, 3 x 1 x 11/0 blue seed, 1 x 11/0 gold seed, 1 x 15/0 blue seed, 1 x 15/0 white seed, 1 x 15/0 gold seed, 1 x 15/0 white seed, 1 x 15/0 blue seed and pass through the 2 x 11/0 gold seeds to move on to the next rank.

Step 5
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 5

Round 5: 1 golden 11/0 seed, 3 times 1 blue 11/0 seed, 1 golden 11/0 seed, 1 blue 15/0 seed, 3 times 1 white 15/0 seed, 1 blue 15/0 seed, and pass through the 2 golden 11/0 seeds.

Step 6
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 6

Continue in this way, alternating gold and white beads in the 15/0 seed beads section of your spiral and placing one gold bead for every 3 blue beads in the 11/0 seed beads section, until you have placed 8 gold 11/0 seed beads in the blue 11/0 seed beads, at which point you place 1 crystalmesh.

Step 7
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 7

1 gold 11/0 seed bead, 1 blue 11/0 seed bead, 1 mesh (go through the 2 bottom holes), 1 blue 11/0 seed bead, 1 gold 11/0 seed bead, 1 blue 15/0 seed bead, 3 times 1 white 15/0 seed bead, 1 blue 15/0 seed bead, go up through the 2 gold 11/0 seed beads. In the next row, when you're level with the mesh, add a blue 11/0 seed bead, then go through the 2 holes at the top of your mesh and add 2 blue 11/0 seed beads.

Step 8
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 8

Continue around, then when you reach the top of the mesh, thread 1 blue 11/0 seed bead 3 times and continue until you reach the desired length. In the center, I've placed 13 meshes all the way around the spiral in place of the gold 11/0 seed beads. Place your meshes about every 9 gold-colored beads. Sometimes, I had to put them in place of the 10th gold bead so that the mesh would sit well on the front of my necklace.

Step 9
DIY Miyuki midnight blue and gold beads spiral necklace Cellini technique : Step 9

To fit your ferrules, you'll need to reduce the diameter of your spiral. Start at the beginning of the spiral and, using the same technique, follow the drawing, but only using 15/0 seed beads. This will reduce the tube. All that's left to do is glue on your ferrules and place your clasp. Your spiral is now complete!

Step 10

Tip: Use tubular mesh inside your spiral to maintain the necklace's shape.
