Winter is approaching and it's high time to start preparing for the festive season. Not sure what kind of creations to choose? How about weaving Christmas baubles from pearls? You can wear them as jewels or brooches to add that touch of magic to your festive outfit (or as gifts!), or you can hang them on the Christmas tree as a real decoration. It doesn't matter how you want to use this bauble, but you'll love weaving this pattern!
Our partner Émilie from the Cœur Citron blog offers us this free bead-weaving pattern to make this Christmas bauble using Brick Stitch weaving. For this tutorial, she used Miyuki 11/0 beads in gold and brown tones to make the little house. Indeed, it's a Christmas ball diagram inspired by snow globes, hence the cute little house inside a ball-shaped weave. But feel free to choose other bead colors to get a Christmas bauble that matches the colors of your Christmas decorations! For example, you could do the house in brick red and weave the sky in a pretty transparent blue, with black beads as slate.
This tutorial is at intermediate level, but if you're a beginner in Brick Stitch weaving and like to challenge yourself, it's perfectly possible. If you'd like to wear this bauble as a brooch, simply add a brooch holder to the back of the pearl weave. And if you want to wear them as jewelry, thread a ring and chain to make a necklace.
And to hang it from your Christmas tree, simply slip a piece of nylon thread between the beads and tie a sturdy knot.
