For this new tutorial, I'm taking you into a world of poetry and gentleness with this jewelry brooch depicting a moon veiled by clouds. Brooches are timeless pieces of jewelry that add a touch of elegance to any outfit... On the lapel of a jacket, on a little sweater, a dress or a t-shirt, it will always look great.
To make my moon brooch, I used different yarns: jaseron, cannetille and Facets Kreinik :
Assembling the brooch is easy: once you've embroidered the motif on the piece of organza fabric, simply attach the brooch support of your choice to the back with a little jewelry glue, and you're done!

Stretch your organza square tightly over an embroidery drum (diameter 15 cm) and tighten the screw, using a screwdriver or pliers if necessary. Then transfer the design to the organza by transparency, using a heat-erasable pen.

Laying the jaseron
The jaseron is a spring-like wire. Start by stretching it slightly to spread the spirals.

Using gray polyester thread, saddle-stitch the jaseron, following all the contours of the design and passing your thread between the spirals. Stitch every 5 mm or so.

Don't hesitate to use your scissors to give the jaseron the right shape, and to cut the jaseron at the end of a line.

Filling the clouds
Kreinik Facets yarn requires a small dot of glue or colorless nail varnish at the ends to prevent fraying.

To attach the Facets, use Au Ver à Soie gold embroidery thread and proceed exactly as for the jaseron: fix the Facets with saddle-stitches at regular intervals, following the contours of each cloud. Don't forget the little stitch of varnish at each end of the Facets you cut!

To play with colors and textures, alternate the two colors of Facets (with Au Ver à Soie gold thread), but also gold curly cannetille, which you will also attach with small saddle-stitches, with gray polyester thread.

To fill any small gaps and cover small areas, cut very small sections of gold curly cannetille. Attach each small segment of cannetille by passing your thread needle through it, as if it were a pearl.

The Moon
Cut several segments (approx. 5 mm) of smooth silver cannetille.

To fill the moon, attach each segment of cannetille like a pearl, starting at the outer edge of the moon and working inwards.

Assembling the brooch
On the back of the brooch, apply (lightly and without crossing!) textile glue to consolidate threads and knots. Apply a further 7-8 mm of glue all around the brooch. Leave to dry for a few hours.

Fold the margin over onto the reverse and glue. Leave to dry for a few hours.

On the reverse side of the silver imitation leather, draw the outline of the brooch (using the brooch as a guide). Mark the location of the ends of the brooch support and cut 2 small slots.

Pass the open brooch holder through these 2 small slots, as shown in the photo. Apply textile glue to the leatherette and apply to the back of the brooch. Allow to dry thoroughly.
And now, let the Misty Moon shine on your lapel!
