Creoles with Brazilian bracelet Heart in Slam strings

How to make a Brazilian heart bracelet ?

Slam yarns are polyester waxed yarns, like Linhasita yarns if you know this brand, but these are certified Oeko-Tex Standard 100, which guarantees that this yarn and its dyes are non-toxic and designed without harmful substances. The waxed thread allows you to make resistant micro macramé creations and guarantees a good hold of the knots.

Normally, Brazilian bracelets are made with cotton thread, but in this tutorial, we have chosen to adapt the technique and use Slam strings. The advantage of using this thread, is that you can cut the bracelet directly and melt the end with a lighter. Thus, you can cover our flat creoles to decorate with your weaving, or stick it on a rush bracelet.

But of course, you can make Brazilian bracelets with cotton thread, we have put a thread kit in the list of variations at the bottom of the page. Before cutting your weaving, you will have to apply some Vinyl glue with a brush on the place where you want to cut it, wait for it to dry and cut the weaving.

It is also possible to make a classic Brazilian bracelet, which you will attach to your wrist with a knot. For this, keep more length of thread before the knot at the beginning to be able to tie it to your wrist afterwards or to make a sliding knot.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Creoles with Brazilian bracelet Heart in Slam strings : Step 1

The model of Brazilian bracelet that we will make is composed of only two different knots. The right knot and the left knot. Here is the diagram to make a right knot. Take the left wire and pass it around the right wire following the pattern. Tighten the loop and place it at the base of the remaining knots. Do this a second time. Then pass the right thread to the left from the front. The edge of the two knots now appears facing you.

Step 2

The left knot is the reverse of the right knot. Take the right-hand thread and tie it twice around the left-hand thread, then pass the thread from right to left to let the edge of the two knots appear facing you.

Step 3

Cut 4 x 1.5 m of yarn of each color. Tie them together. If you're making a bracelet with a bow for the fastening, remember to keep more length than shown in the photo. You can attach your bracelet to something heavy, like a travel bag, with a safety pin, or use our special micro-macramé foam board.

Arrange the wires as shown in the photo: 1 light pink, 1 fuchsia, 1 light pink, 1 fuchsia, 1 fuchsia, 1 light pink, 1 fuchsia, 1 light pink.

Bonjour,
