Find out how to make eyeglass cords very easily yourself in 10 minutes. Eyeglass cords are trendy and useful accessories. Thanks to these eyeglass cords, you won't lose them anymore. What's more, you can customize them at will to match your glasses or your style. Whether you want a multicolored version to brighten up your summer or a chic version for all year round, check out two DIY eyeglass cord ideas.
To make them, you'll need a mix of seed beads, charms, fishing line and a flat clip. In this tutorial, we attached the bead cord directly to the silicone bezel clip. Be aware that if you want to swap out the colored eyeglass attachments with the cords, simply attach the cord to a closed ring, then connect the eyeglass attachment and cord with an open ring. Here are the products used in each lanyard. The black and gold version and the multicolor version are separated by the leaf. In the bead set, we used the black faceted beads for the chic version and the fuchsia, orange, yellow and turquoise seed beads and orange spinners for the colorful version.
To connect the string of pearls to the glasses, we will use eyeglass attachments. These are small silicone tips that will slip onto the temples of the glasses. As explained in the introduction, in this tutorial, we have directly attached the clips to the beads. You can also attach the cord to closed rings and connect the cord to the clip with an open ring so that you can easily swap clips and cords.
To make your cords, cut a 65 cm piece of fishing line. Thread a crush bead, pass it through the bezel attachment and pass the thread back through the crush bead. Keep a piece of wire of 5 cm. Bring the bead closer to the bezel clip and flatten it with the flat nose pliers.
Place a bead cover over the crushed bead to make it look pretty. Thread your beads with the wire end through the beads as well and do the same on the other side.
Here are the beads and charms strung to get the chic bezel cord. Add little rings to the charms before you string them. They will fit more nicely this way.
