We've put together a DIY decorating tutorial for you to make your own lamp: from customizing the lampshade to installing the electrical system, we'll take you step by step through a video tutorial. We've chosen to make a Scandinavian-style lamp, in pastel shades of white and light pink, to give your home a cocooning feel. This lamp will look great on a bedside table, in a child's bedroom or in a corner of your living room.
In this tutorial, you'll learn how to make your own original lampshade frame , and how to use polyphane. You'll find all the materials you need to create a lamp:adhesive fabric bias for lampshade outline, lamp base, lampshade carcass, lampholder kit, bulbs in our Lighting department.
Customizing the lamp base: Paint it white. Leave to dry for 2 hours between coats of paint. Wrap Lizbeth thread around the base of the lamp base, which you've previously glued. Apply masking tape parallel to the base. Prepare the pink paint by mixing white and cadium orange. Paint between the masking tape strips to create perfect paint stripes. Remove the masking tape.
See the materials list at the bottom of this page!
NB: Please note that the product list below does not fully correspond to the presentation photo. For stock reasons, the fabric in this tutorial has been replaced by an equivalent fabric. The 20 cm lamp base has been replaced by a 30 cm lamp base.
