How to make a long Peyote weave?
Peyote weaving is a weaving technique without a loom. All you need is a needle and thread. Usually, we weave the bracelet in its width, but in this Miyuki video tutorial we are going to change a little: We are going to weave it in its length. This DIY bead is accessible to beginners. If you want to start with bead weaving, you can start with this one or with our other beginner tutorials.
We are going to weave in Odd Peyote, as it is more aesthetically pleasing to finish on the same number of beads on each side of the bracelet. If we were to weave it in even Peyote, then we would have 4 beads on one side and 5 on the other. But you can still weave it in even Peyote if you prefer.
Since we will be weaving the entire length of the bracelet directly, it will be easier to use a Quick Start Peyote. This way the weave will not twist and it will be more relaxing. The Quick Start Peyote is a tool that makes it easier to start weaving beads directly with the first row of beads. If you don't use it, you have to thread the first two rows at the same time, then create the "notches" with the third row. You can find this method in the tutorials listed above.
