Measure the different diameters of the round shapes of the mould, use a compass or a punch of the same size to transfer your shape onto fabric, be careful not to use a felt pen that would go through the thickness of the fabric.
How do you resinate fabric? This video shows you a technique to recycle scraps of fabric by resinating them to make rings. Once you understand how to make all the things you can create using fabric, you will be able to match all your outfits with resin accessories and jewellery.
These rings are made with UV LED resin, the mould being transparent and in order to save time but be aware that it is possible to resin your fabric by doing exactly the same thing with bi-component resin.
Measure the different diameters of the round shapes of the mould, use a compass or a punch of the same size to transfer your shape onto fabric, be careful not to use a felt pen that would go through the thickness of the fabric.
Pour some UV LED resin at the bottom of the mould, spread the resin, burst the bubbles by bringing a flame close to the surface for a very short time. Catalyse this thin film of resin by putting the mould under a lamp, press only once.
Pour resin back into the mould, place your cloth ring on top, pour resin again and press with a stick on the cloth to bring up the air bubbles stuck underneath. The mould is transparent, so just lift it up and look underneath to see if there are any bubbles. Pass under a lamp once on each side of the mould.
The underside of your resin and fabric ring is hollow and the edge is quite thick, you have to sand it by rubbing it on an abrasive, take a grain between 500 and 800 it will go very quickly. Do not sand neither the surface nor the edges of your parts.
Glue your resin ring in the ring holder.
