Indeed, there is a lot of variation of peyote, the simplest being the classic peer peyote, then the inevitable peyote odd. The difference is in the number of pearls in the width. The odd peyote, with an odd number of pearls which makes it possible to create symmetrical patterns in the width and in the length whereas the peyote pair does not allow to have a symmetrical pattern in the width but only in the length. However, it is much easier to understand.

In this tutorial we will use odd and simple odd peyote. In reality, nothing prevents them from mixing.
