How to make a mirror with shells and feathers?
Make a mirror with feathers and shells. This decorative trend, which you'll find in trendy boutiques, comes from a revisiting of ancestral necklaces from Papua and New Guinea. You can use other colors in our braids, feathers or other shells. If you want to make your mirror look less ethnic and more classy, you can replace the red leather with a gold cord.
As you know, at Perles&Co we're a bit curious... so don't hesitate to show us the results of your creations by sharing a photo of your work with us on our social networks: our Facebook page and our Instagram page .

Spread glue all over the back of the mirror. Place it in the center of the cork circle.

Apply a dab of glue all around the mirror, then position your feather braid. Work in short lengths, then secure the braid with pins that you'll remove later.

Glue the shells one by one, taking care not to let them spill over the mirror. Coat the inside of each shell with glue, and place a dot of glue on the braid. Position your shells in the same direction, pointing towards the mirror.

Cut a length of cord to fit around your cowrie shells, place a dab of glue around the shells and then place your leather cord.

It will take a day for the glue to dry. You can hang your mirror with double-sided tape, silicone tape or a hook. Your mirror isn't heavy, so you'll be able to fix it to several walls.
