Decorate your home with this DIY golden mistletoe. This tutorial shows you how to create hanging mistletoe with metal embossing. You can reuse this technique to create gold metal mistletoe garlands or insert them into a handmade Christmas wreath. Spinning metal is a thin sheet of metal that is malleable and easy to cut. You can draw shapes on the metal with a toothpick and it will create a relief on the metal. You can even do this DIY with your family with children from 10 years old, accompanied by an adult. The mistletoe leaf template will allow you to cut out leaves of the same size. Feel free to download the pdf version and print it.
The metal to be pushed back opens many possibilities. You can also make other plants, moons, stars and many other creations with this product. Some DIY projects use it to create unique greeting cards. The leftover sheet will not be wasted. These metal sheets also come in other colors, including silver and the assorted metal sheet kits in different colors that I've added to the variation section at the bottom of the page.
The small round DIY pompons also come in other colours and sizes. For example, you could make holly by changing the shape of the leaves and replacing the white pompons with red ones.

Print and cut out the template. Trace the outline of the template on the metal sheet with a toothpick or a pick that should not be too sharp to avoid tearing the metal.

Cut out the leaves with a pair of scissors and make a hole at the top with a needle, scalpel or chuck. The black mat on the picture is a cutting mat that protects the table.

Cut pieces of wire of different sizes from 5 to 15 cm for the longest. Form loops on one end each and insert the leaves into the loop.

With your toothpick, draw lines on the leaves as shown in the photo to give relief. Then wrap the smaller branches around the larger ones to create your branch. Connect the larger branch to the ring with a pigtail loop or another type of loop as long as the branch is attached. This ring will make it easier to hang the mistletoe.

Hide the places where you have connected the branches with pom-poms and hot glue. Be careful not to burn yourself. Also protect the table.
