Bead weaving experts beware, our creative partner Gaele offers this tutorial to learn how to make a necklace using the netting technique. Netting is a Native American technique that involves stringing small seed beads of different sizes, depending on the desired effect. In this tutorial, you'll learn how to create a bib-style necklace in pink, turquoise and white, ideal for enhancing your pretty summer outfits!
The necklace is distinguished by its net pattern, obtained using the netting technique, which creates a light, airy yet sturdy structure. It allows the necklace to adapt perfectly to your neck. For the clasp, Gaele has opted for the magnetic clasp option. This makes the necklace easy to put on and take off. For those who prefer a more classic version, you can replace it with a lobster clasp and an open ring.
This technique allows you to create a multitude of designs, so have fun letting your creativity run wild! And if you reproduce this tutorial, don't hesitate to share your creation with us by mentioning us on our social networks. We'd love to see what you come up with!

String two pink pearls, one round pearl and three seed beads. Pass the thread through the silver rocaille of the last row completed.

Following the color order, thread three seed beads, one round bead and three more seed beads. Pass the thread through the silver bead in the middle of the last row.

Repeat this step in the order of the next colors.

Finish the third strand with three blue pearls, one 8/0 seed bead and three silver seed beads.

Close the third row by passing the thread through the 8/0 seed bead as you did in step 2.

Repeat these steps until the collar is complete.

Once the desired necklace length is complete, exit through the last round bead and thread four pink seed beads, the clasp ring and thread four pink seed beads again.
Secure the weave by passing the thread several times through the first third of the last row.

Secure the weave by passing the thread several times through the first third of the last row.

Pull out the thread on the very last bead of the necklace and insert a seed bead between each pair of seed beads on the entire first row of the necklace.
Repeat the same operation on the other side of the clasp, using the thread that comes out at the end of the necklace once the seed beads have been threaded.
Secure the weave by passing the thread several times through different beads. Then tie a tight knot and burn the thread, taking care not to crack the necklace.
