Cut 1.2 m of thread and thread it onto a needle. Add a holding bead to the end of the thread. String 4 beads in the color of your choice.
This tutorial shows you how to create a chain with links woven fromMiyuki Delica 10/0beads. Miyuki is the name of the manufacturer and Delica the name they gave to their cylindrical seed beads. 10/0 indicates the size of the beads. Most of the time, weavings are made in size 11/0. 11/0 pearls are smaller than 10/0 pearls. The larger the number in front of the 0, the smaller the pearl. Although Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads are the most widely used, using 10/0 beads has many advantages:
The technique used to make our links is Peyote Pairweaving. It's a needle-weaving technique that doesn't require a loom. Peyote Pair weaving is one of the simplest needle-bead weaving techniques. As such, this tutorial is perfect for learning needle pearl weaving. In this video tutorial, you'll learn how to weave strips of beads. You'll then transform these strips into "rings" by sewing the two ends together. Interlocking the rings creates a chain.
Our model has 16 rings, but the number needed will depend on your wrist size. Test the bracelet on your wrist as you go along to determine the most suitable length. Don't make the bracelet too close to the wrist, as you need room to close it easily.
If you only know Brick Stitch and prefer to use this technique, it's possible. It's also possible to make beaded bands on a loom, but we don't recommend this technique as you'll need to use and hide a lot of thread.
Cut 1.2 m of thread and thread it onto a needle. Add a holding bead to the end of the thread. String 4 beads in the color of your choice.
Thread a new bead and pass the needle through the second-to-last bead, towards the other beads. Tighten. Thread another bead and pass through the first bead threaded. Tighten.
Thread a new bead and pass through the last bead threaded in step 2, towards the other beads. Thread a bead and pass through the first bead threaded in step 2. Continue weaving, filling the gaps with new beads for each row. Stop when you have 20 beads on each row.
Sew the two parts of the strip together to form a link. Catch the two ends of the thread in the weave and cut them off. Make more strips and turn them into links. First pass them through the previous link before sewing the two parts together.
Once the pearl link chain is long enough for your wrist, open the clasp and slide the first and last links into it.
