Cut about 1.20 m of thread and thread the needle. Tie a knot on the support, leaving 10 cm of thread free. Double the knot and position it on the bottom of the earring. It will be easier to weave the bangs later.

Discover the bead-weaving tutorial by Raphaëlle Roux, one of the winners of the Cré'Academy 2023 competition. The theme of this creative competition was the creation of jewelry tutorials on the theme of the festive season. The competition ran from August 7 to September 20, 2023. The 5 winning tutorials are featured in the November collection: Perlement Vôtre.
Raphaëlle invites you to create this pair of asymmetrical beaded fringe ear rings. These earrings are made with Miyuki Delica 11/0 pearls. To make these bangs and attach them to the base of the earring, you'll need to know Brick Stitch weaving. The first step is to weave a base of pearls using Brick Stitch, then add the bangs to this base. For this reason, this tutorial is aimed at those who have already completed a few Brick Stitch projects.
By adding bangs to this pair of earrings, you'll create volume quickly without having to weave dozens of strands of pearls. It's an original pair of earrings that's sure to make a splash this holiday season. Wear these earrings with a white, black or sequined blazer for a chic look, or change the color of the pearls to match your party outfit.
The earrings chosen by the designer are in a rose gold finish, but they also come in gold and silver. You'll find them at the bottom of the page in the hardware variation section. Don't hesitate to show us the result on our Facebook page, in the Perles & Co customer Super Club group or on Instagram by quoting us with @perlesandco or with #perlesandco. Remember to quote the creator of this tutorial each time you share. Thanks to Raphaëlle for her tutorial.

Cut about 1.20 m of thread and thread the needle. Tie a knot on the support, leaving 10 cm of thread free. Double the knot and position it on the bottom of the earring. It will be easier to weave the bangs later.

String 2 A beads. Slide them up to the earring. Pass the needle through the second bead, wrapping the thread around the support first, then back into the bead from underneath.

Thread 1 A bead and bring it close to the second bead. Pass the thread under the bracket and back into the bead from below, securing it to the bracket as before. Repeat this step until you have a total of 19 A beads on half the earring. The wire should exit through the bead at the top of the earring.

Thread 1 bead B, 1 bead C, 1 bead D. Slide them up to bead A on the loop. Pass the needle through beads C and B (forget bead D, this is how you weave bangs), then through bead A on the loop, positioning the needle on the front of the loop. Pass the needle through the penultimate bead A fixed in step 3. The thread now exits from the outside of the loop, ready to weave the next fringe.

Make the next fringe with 1 A bead, 1 B bead, 1 C bead and 1 D bead. Weave the next fringe with 2 A beads, 1 B bead, 1 C bead and 1 D bead. Continue in this way, adding an A bead to each new fringe until you reach 18 A beads, 1 B bead, 1 C bead and 1 D bead on the last fringe. Tie a double knot on the back of the earring to secure the wire, hide each end in a fringe and cut flush.

Weave the second earring in the same way, taking care to position the pearls on the other half of the support to obtain symmetrical earrings.
