Make two Japanese stars up to step 6 in the following tutorial: DIY Japanese Star and one up to step 8. Connect the two stars as shown.

In this tutorial, our designer Tiffanie invites you to create a circular peyote beaded bracelet, whose motif is inspired by Japanese stars. She's chosen black and gold Miyuki pearls, the perfect color combo to complement an evening outfit. Of course, you can make the same bracelet with the colors you like by selecting your beads from our wide range of Miyuki Delica beads.
The diagram is from the Japanese Star kit, released as a limited edition by Perles & co, in 2016. We thought it would be fun to present it to you today as a free download. All you have to do is download the pattern and follow the steps.
The technique used is circular or spiral Peyote weaving. It's similar to peyote weaving, but is woven by adding beads around a circle of beads. The principle is the same as classic peyote, except that the weave is circular. You don't weave back and forth, but in spirals. To make this bracelet woven using this method, remember not to weave too tightly.
This weaving technique can also be used to cover wooden beads, to create peyote tubes and other 3D shapes, particularly 3D stars. For example, we used this technique to cover and crimp a wooden cabochon in this tutorial on 3D circular peyote earrings.
Please note that this tutorial is not for beginners. It requires a certain level of skill in bead weaving, including knowledge of circular peyote.

Make two Japanese stars up to step 6 in the following tutorial: DIY Japanese Star and one up to step 8. Connect the two stars as shown.

Weave in the pattern and connect the other small star to the large one.

Connect the black beads shown in the diagram to #1 and continue weaving.

Make a loop to connect the gold beads shown in the diagram.
Continue weaving following the peyote star pattern. Caution. The two stars on the sides are smaller.
When finished weaving, cut 2 pieces of 10cm fine mesh chain and attach each to the outer branches of the small stars. Put a ring in the middle of each chain, add a carabiner and more rings if needed.
