Cut 1.5 m of thread and thread a needle on each end of the thread. Thread a white bead. This is the first bead in the row of 6 beads framed on the blue earring diagram.

Pass another white bead through both needles in a crisscross pattern and bring it closer to the first. Place the beads 20 cm from one of the two wire ends.

Repeat step 2 for the remaining 4 beads in the row. Remove the needle from the shorter thread. Thread 2 dark blue beads onto the needle and slide the thread under the thread connecting bead #4 and #5. Pull until the new beads are positioned side by side, but do not pull too hard. Pull back through the bottom of bead #8.

Go back into bead #7 and then into bead #8 to secure the beads together. You have just made a Brick Stitch decrease.

Add a turquoise bead and pass the needle under the thread connecting beads #3 and #4. Continue in the same way until you reach bead #12, which you will attach by passing the needle behind the thread connecting beads #1 and #2 again, just like bead #11.

Thread 2 white beads and slip the needle under the thread connecting beads #11 and #12. Pull to lock the beads and pass through bead #14 again. You have just made a Brick Stitch increase. Continue weaving beads #15 through #18 one at a time.

To start row 4, repeat step 4. Then repeat steps 5 and 6 until the end of row 7.

At row 8, make an increase, not a decrease. At the end of row 8, make a decrease to start row 9. Continue in this manner with the reverse increases and decreases. This will give you a 13 row chevron weave. Do not cut the yarn.
Cut 2 pieces of chain 7 cm long. Find the exact middle of these 2 pieces by passing a needle through a stitch. The two pieces should be exactly the same size, with the same number of stitches.

Come out of the last bead in row 13 from the top by passing through the neighboring beads. Hang the bead directly on the chain by passing the wire through the last stitch of the chain and then back through the bead. Do this 3 times. Do the same thing on the other side with the other end of the chain piece then catch the wire in the weave and cut it off. If you don't know how to do this, go to the next step.

To block the thread, you will need to go back through the beads in the weave so that the thread is trapped. Go through the beads next to the bead your thread is coming out of and through the beads diagonally to it so that you can't see the thread above the beads. Pull on the last bead you threaded to make sure the first thread is caught.

Open the ring of the hook and slide the exact center of the chain into it. Close the ring tightly. You will use the other piece of chain for the second earring of the pair.
