Step 1
Cut 46 threads of 80cm. Fold them in half and place them two by two on the choker by making a knot at the lark's head as in the photo. Read our fact sheet how to make a lark's head knot for more details.

2nd step
Make a flat macrame knot or "Portuguese braid" .
For each group of four threads, tie the two outer threads as follows: Pass the right thread under the two middle threads and above the left thread. Pass the left wire over the two middle wires and below the right wire to form an eight. Tighten the knot by pulling on each side.

Step 3
Make a knot again by inverting the first one: Pass the right thread over the two middle threads and under the left thread. Pass the left wire under the two middle wires and above the right wire and tighten. Make a total of 5 knots on the first set of threads of the necklace. Repeat this step on all the string quartets by adding a knot as the group approaches the center of the necklace.

Step 4
Take the first thread on the left and make an inverted festoon knot : Pass under the thread to the right of it and then over, go back into the space between the two threads and tighten. Repeat with the same thread from the beginning and the third thread and so on until the first thread on the far left reaches the center of the necklace. You can help with the video " Learn the 11 basic macramé nodes ".

Step 5
Repeat step 4 but with a normal festoon node starting this time with the thread at the right end of the collar and going towards the center. Once the two wires are in the center, make a festoon knot by passing the left yarn over the right yarn. Put a dab of glue on the back of the knot.
Step 6
Repeat steps 4 and 5 until you have 5 rows of festoon nodes .

Step 7
Cut 46 threads of 70 cm. Repeat steps 4 and 5 on a row by adding a 70cm thread in each knot.

Step 8
Repeat steps 4 and 5 by tying the thread at the left end with the two new threads of each group plus the right thread as if it were a single thread. Make two rows of festoon knots.

Step 9
Sew a sewing stone in the center of the necklace.

Your necklace and weaving macrame is finished! You can wear it with all your favorite outfits.
