How to use Tilas beads?

Discover in this bead weaving tutorial a new pattern of bracelet to weave with Half Tilas. This tutorial is not suitable for beginners, as it contains many steps and is rather long to weave. If this is not your first time weaving beaded jewelry, then go for it! This bracelet is made of 3 parts:

  • 1 part with 2 rows of Tilas and gold seed beads size 11/0 and optional charms.
  • 1 part with the same row of Tilas and seed beads but without the charms.
  • 1 part that will link the first two parts and is made with the technique of small flowers in rocailles.

Tilas are rectangular beads from Miyuki brand. There are 3 sizes of Tilas: Quarter, Half and Classic Tilas. In this tutorial, we used Half Tilas. You can do the same thing with Quarter Tilas. If you use regular Tilas, the bracelet will probably be too wide, but it's up to you to choose and test what you like best. These rectangular beads come in many colors to suit your preferences.

The small flowers in the center are made with Miyuki 11/0 seed beads. Other seed beads may also be used.

Once this bracelet is finished, do you have any Tilas and seed beads left? Check out other tutorials to make with your leftover beads: DIY Bangle Bracelet with Miyuki Half Tila Spiral Weave, Miyuki Mini Flower Seed Bead Creoles.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 1

Cut 2 m of wire. Thread 1 support bead, i.e. a bead that serves to block the other beads and prevent them from falling. To do this, thread a seed bead, place it 10 cm from the end of the thread and pass the needle through it twice in the same direction. This way, the bead is blocked, but you can remove it at the end.

Step 2
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 2

Thread 2 Half Tila (HT) and 3 11/0 beads.

Step 3
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 3

Go through the second hole of the second HT.

Step 4
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 4

Thread 1 HT. Pass through the first hole of the first and second HT.

Step 5
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 5

Pass through the 3 threaded rockeries and through the second hole of the second HT, through the first hole of the third HT, and then through the second hole of the third HT. Thread a fourth HT.

Step 6
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 6

Go back to the second and third HT.

Step 7
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 7

Return to the fourth HT through the second hole of the third HT. Thread 3 beads 11/0 and go into the next hole.

Step 8
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 8

Repeat steps 4 through 7.

Step 9
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 9

Continue until you have 7 tilas at the top if a 17 cm long bracelet is enough. You need to make a bracelet the size of your wrist +1.5 cm minimum. If not, add more tilas at the top. This number will be the number of tilas that separates each charm so that they are well distributed. 1 HT is 5 mm, so if you add 1 Tila at the beginning, you will get 4 more tilas at the end to space the charms properly. That's an extra 2 cm. But this is just a guideline, you can adjust the spacing as you like if you know your way around weaving.

Step 10
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 10

When you reach this level (count the beads), you can add the first charm. Thread the next Tila and the charm ring while continuing the weaving. You can also make the bracelet without the charm. In this case, continue weaving until you have made a band of 14 cm or more.

Step 11
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 11

Make a turn in the beads to return to the tila threaded in the previous step. And make a new passage in the charm. Start again so that it is well fixed then resume weaving the Tilas.

Step 12
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 12

Center the charms on your weave by counting the number of beads between them.

Step 13
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 13

Weave a second strip of HT without a charm this time.

Step 14
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 14

On the first part, add a rockery at the end and pass through the hole in the Half Tila to place the wire on the side without the rockery.

Step 15
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 15

Thread 6 rocailles 11/0 in the color of your choice. Iron in the first one in the same direction as the threading direction. Tighten and place the bead circle against the tila weave by moving it with your fingers and pulling on the thread.

Step 16
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 16

Move to the next hole in the end Tila.

Step 17
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 17

Go through the other hole and the next two rockeries. Thread a gold seed bead to make the heart of the flower. Thread through the bead opposite where the thread exits in the flower. Bring the needle out in the fourth bead from the bead attached to the HT weave.

Step 18
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 18

Attach this fourth flower bead to the second tila weave. Add a golden rock garden as you go.

Step 19
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 19

Come out of the Tila and go through the same rock bead to attach it on both sides to the Half Tila.

Step 20
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 20

Take this opportunity to go into the third rockery bead, thread a large closed ring and go back into the rockeries that make up the flower. Make two full turns to go through the ring twice more to secure the attachment.

Step 21
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 21

Return to the first Tila section and zig-zag through the Tilas to get to the first hole in the third Tila from the right to the left in the photo.

Step 22
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 22

Thread 6 rocks and repeat step 15.

Step 23
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 23

Repeat step 16.

Step 24
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 24

Repeat step 17.

Step 25
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 25

Repeat step 17

Step 26
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 26

Repeat step 18 without adding the gold bead this time.

Step 27
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 27

Repeat step 19.

Step 28
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 28

Zig-zag through the Tilas to get to the first hole in the fifth Tila. Repeat the above steps to form a new flower. Continue to space the flowers evenly and tie the two Half Tila parts together.

Step 29
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 29

When you run out of thread, tie it to the weave with a double knot and hide the remaining thread in the weave by ironing in the beads then cut it off.

Step 30
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 30

Before taking a new thread, repeat the previous steps with the remaining piece of thread on the other side of the bracelet. You will also tie it to the weave when you have only 15 cm left. You can take the opportunity to do the same thing with the other pieces of yarn.

Step 31
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 31

To start with a new yarn, tie it to the weave, keeping 10 cm of yarn end to hide it easily in the weave. Continue weaving with the new yarn.

Step 32
Tilas weaving bracelet with small flowers Miyuki : Step 32

Now you can directly use the clasp given in the list of materials by attaching it to the closed rings, or attach a classic carabiner clasp with an open ring.

Quelle différence entre le fil Fireline 0,10 et le fil One G? Le quel convient mieux au tissage avec des perles Tila? Merci
