Christmas is fast approaching and it's time to get out your favorite beads, the Miyuki beads. Get your red, green, and white beads and start making lots of pretty decorations in traditional Christmas colors! Unless you prefer the revisited version with rather original colors (and it also works). Transform these diagrams with colors that are popular this year: terracotta, duck blue ... It's up to you!
This tutorial is divided into 2 main parts:
Of course, you can choose other colors of Miyuki among all the references on our site. Whatever colors you choose, these little beaded gift packages will fit on your table as place cards, or they will hang on your tree!

To begin, weave the large strip following the pattern. Easy to weave with the peyote technique, the weaving can also be done with the brick stitch technique.

Close the weave by alternately passing through a bead on each side. Pull gently and hide the threads.

Cut two strips of cardboard (recycled packaging):
On the first strip, put 4 marks every 1.4cm. On the second strip, put a first mark at 1.35cm, the next one 1.2cm further, then 1.35cm and then 1.2cm. With a cutter, mark the paper at the markings. The aim is to make the folding easier, for that a light cut (see with the back of the cutter) is enough. For each strip, use the flap to glue the two ends of the strip.

Put the two strips together to form a thimble. Insert the die into the weave. If necessary, readjust the dimensions of the thimble. When the dimensions are validated, disassemble, add a point of glue and reassemble.

Weave in two lids. Glue one lid on the top and one on the bottom.

On the underside of the package, in the middle of one side, pass through a bead from the outside to the inside and then through the bead next to it from the inside to the outside. Make a glue dot and reinforce it with a glue dot. Thread beads until you can go around to the other side.

As in the previous step, in the middle of the side, go from the outside to the inside and then from the inside to the outside and make a knot. Reinforce the knot with a glue dot. Repeat steps 6 and 7 with the other two sides.
When the glue is dry, cut off the protruding threads.

Pass through the beads of the ribbon to get to the crossing. Start the golden pompom. Thread 4 beads, skip the last bead and then thread through the other 3. Continue like this. Regularly pass through a bead of the ribbon of the crossing so that the pompom remains well fixed.

Continue until you have the desired volume.

Make several gifts by varying the patterns and colors.
