How to create a beaded tube?

How to create a beaded tube?

On our March 12, 2021 Facebook Live, we showed you how to follow a tubular brick stitch pattern that creates beaded tubes. This technique is accessible to beginners, but we recommend that you practice first with a flat brick stitch pattern like this one: Red miyuki earrings weaving tips silver 925.

With this technique, you can either create necklaces or bracelets by making a very long tube, or you can make earrings and tube beads to string with other beads to create a piece of jewelry. In this tutorial, we have created three tubes of beads 3 cm long and we have strung them on a bracelet with gold metal washers and polymer clay beads. Find the material list at the bottom of the page.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Miyuki Brick Stitch Tubular Beads Bracelet : Step 1

Start by creating the golden base of the tube bead with 6 delicas 11/0. Cut 1 m of weaving thread and thread it onto a size 12 needle. Thread two gold beads. Hold the end of the thread to prevent the beads from falling off. Keep about 15 cm of thread end. Thread the needle through the first bead in the same direction as the thread and tighten so that the two beads sit side by side. Thread through the second bead again.

Step 2
Miyuki Brick Stitch Tubular Beads Bracelet : Step 2

Thread a third golden bead, pass through the previous bead and back into the third. Do the same with the fourth and so on until you have strung 6.

Step 3

Connect the first and sixth beads to form a circle.

Step 4
Miyuki Brick Stitch Tubular Beads Bracelet : Step 4

Thread a beige and white bead. Pass the needle under the thread connecting the beads indicated on the
diagram, turn in the white bead and tighten.

Step 5
Miyuki Brick Stitch Tubular Beads Bracelet : Step 5

Thread a beige bead, go under the thread connecting the next beads and back into the beige bead. Continue weaving the beads in the row.

Step 6
Miyuki Brick Stitch Tubular Beads Bracelet : Step 6

Once you have woven all 6 beads in the row, connect the first and last beads. Then start weaving the third row of the pattern with a gold and white bead. Continue by following the pattern and crossing out the beads as you go.

Step 7

When the tube is finished, catch the thread in the weave and cut it. Run it through the beads next to the bead your thread is coming out of and through the beads diagonally to it so you can't see the thread over the beads. Do this with both ends of the thread.

Step 8
Miyuki Brick Stitch Tubular Beads Bracelet : Step 8

Once you have made your three tubes, unscrew the ball of the bracelet to thread the beads. Slide on the bracelet 3 times the following sequence: 3 polymer clay beads, 1 gold washer 10 mm, 1 gold washer 7 mm, 1 tube Miyuki beads, 1 gold washer 7 mm, 1 gold washer 10 mm. Finish with 3 polymer clay beads and screw the ball.
