Miyuki pearl weave bracelet Peyote Pair technique

Want to try a new and relaxing creative activity? Try bead weaving! Peyote Pair bead weaving is much simpler than it sounds! It is a needle weaving technique that does not require a loom. You will therefore need less material. Moreover, the long preparatory stage is over.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Miyuki pearl weave bracelet Peyote Pair technique : Step 1

Cut 1.5 m of weaving thread and thread it onto a size 12 needle. Thread a bead of any colour and iron it twice. Place it 15 cm from the end of the thread. This is a holding bead that will prevent your beads from slipping off the thread. You can remove it after 3 or 4 rows of woven beads.

Step 2
Miyuki pearl weave bracelet Peyote Pair technique : Step 2

String the following beads. They correspond to the first 2 rows of the weaving. Cross out the beads on the diagram as you string them.

Step 3
Miyuki pearl weave bracelet Peyote Pair technique : Step 3

Slide a second long needle or nail into the beads shown on the diagram. This will help you see which beads to go through next and will prevent the weave from turning on itself. Thread a gold bead and pass through the next turquoise bead. Place the turquoise bead at the end and the gold bead side by side with your hand.

Step 4

Then thread a turquoise bead through the blue one shown on the diagram, a blue one through the next gold one and a blue one through the purple one.

Step 5

Continue following the pattern to make the fourth and subsequent rows. You can now remove the holding bead and the needle that prevents the weaving from turning.

Step 6
Miyuki pearl weave bracelet Peyote Pair technique : Step 6

When you have only 15 cm of thread left, you must replace it. To do this, wedge the thread into the beads by running it diagonally through several beads side by side. The thread should not be visible over the beads. After 3 or 4 diagonals, you can cut the thread. Take a 1.5 m wire and wedge it in the same way and pass it through the beads to return to where you left off.

Step 7
Miyuki pearl weave bracelet Peyote Pair technique : Step 7

Test the weave on the rush regularly to see if it is long enough. When it is at the right size, wedge the thread in the beads and cut it. Be careful, before gluing the weaving on the ring, spread or bring closer the opening of the ring so that it is adapted to your wrist. You will not be able to move it once the weaving is glued because it would break the pearls. Indeed, they are made of glass and by moving the ring away from you, you put pressure on the pearls which can then break.

To glue the weave, mix the two parts of the glue in equal quantity and apply it on the whole surface of the rush to cover. Glue the weave on and wait 24 hours before wearing it.
