DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain

How do you make a mask attachment?

Tired of not knowing where to put your mask? Petit bout de chou shows you in this tutorial how to make step by step an elegant and trendy chain made of glass beads to go with your mask.

Whether you are an expert or a beginner in jewelry creation, this tutorial is suitable for everyone. You will learn the basic techniques of jewelry creation:
- How to attach a clasp to a cable
- How to use a squeeze bead and a knot cover.

When you no longer need the mask chain, it turns into a beautiful multi-row necklace or bracelet or a glasses chain. As you can see, this chain will follow you in your daily life and can be used in many different ways.

To change the colours of this creation, find the other available colours: spinning tops 4 mm, 6/0 seed beads, 4 mm facets.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain : Step 1

Cut 70 cm of cable with a pair of wire cutters.

Slide a bead to be crushed and thread a clasp through its ring at the end of your cable.

Step 2
DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain : Step 2

Form a loop about one centimetre long with the cable and slide the end of the cable into the bead to be crushed.

You now have two strands of cable in the bead to be crushed and the clasp caught in the loop.

Take flat pliers and flatten the bead.

Step 3

To hide the bead to be crushed, you can use a hiding bead that will give you a cleaner and prettier finish.

Simply place the hiding bead around the bead to be crushed and close it gently with flat pliers.

Step 4
DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain : Step 4

All you have to do is string your beads in the sequence shown in the photo.

Step 5
DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain : Step 5

Repeat the sequence as many times as necessary to get a sufficient length for you to do :

  • A necklace
  • A multi-turn bracelet (here two turns for example)
  • The right length of chain for your mask

To give you a reference, we have used in this example 8 times the sequence for a total length of 52 cm for the pearl part only (clasps not included).

Step 6
DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain : Step 6

To complete the chain, you only need to repeat the first steps:

Thread a bead to be crushed and close by its ring at the end of your cable.

Form a loop about a centimetre long with the cable and slide the end of the cable into the bead to be crushed.

You now have two strands of cable in the bead and the clasp caught in the loop.

Take flat pliers and flatten the bead. You can now cut off the excess cable.

Step 7
DIY 3 in 1 beaded mask chain : Step 7

To hide the pearl to be crushed, place the hiding pearl around the pearl to be crushed and close it gently with flat pliers.

Your 3 in 1 chain is ready! When you no longer need it for your mask (hopefully soon), you can always wear it as a necklace or bracelet to accessorize your most beautiful outfits.
