SuperDuo Elastic Bead Bracelet with Halo Beads

Make this slender, customizable bracelet in dozens of different colors in less than 1 hour. You'll need 3 different kinds of beads: SuperDuo, Miyuki 11/0 seed beads and flattened faceted beads. These beads come in many different colors.

You can also add a touch of originality to your bracelet with Halo Beads, which are metal beads placed around SuperDuo beads. Halo beads are part of the "Cymbal beads" range. They are a set of metal beads and primers specially designed for certain types of Czech glass beads. These glass beads come in an incredible number of different shapes. You can combine them together and add Cymbal beads to create a multitude of combinations.

Elastic bracelets are very easy to make, as long as you follow a few simple steps:

  • Pre-stretch your elastic wire before stringing the beads. All elastic threads relax slightly at first. It's better to force them to stretch before you've finished your bracelet than once the knot has been made.
  • String the beads as you go , laying them on your table rather than holding them in your hand to avoid dropping all the beads.
  • Depending on the size and brand of elastic thread used, you may or may not be able to finish your bracelet with a knot. The wire used here allows you to finish with a surgeon's knot.
  • Avoid storing your elastic thread and bracelets under direct sunlight or in a warm place. UV rays and solvents deteriorate plastics.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
SuperDuo Elastic Bead Bracelet with Halo Beads : Step 1

Cut 30 cm of elastic thread and pre-stretch it by pulling on it. The string of beads shown in this step makes it possible to make an elastic bracelet that does not serve the wrist for people who have a wrist of less than 15.5 cm but if you remove a SuperDuo at each string then it will be too small. Once the beads are strung, check the length with a ruler and readjust the strings if necessary. The bracelet should be at least around your wrist + 1.5 cm. If it is larger than this value it is not serious.

Cut a new 30 cm piece of wire and pre-stretch it as well. Pass it through the bottom hole of one of the Halo Beads. Thread, 1 F, 1R and pass it through the second hole of the next SuperDuo. Thread 1R, 1F, 1R through the second hole of the next SuperDuo. Continue until you have completed the bracelet.

Make a double surgical knot on each side of the bracelet. Be careful that the bracelet has not turned. Apply a pinch of glue, then once the glue dries cut the wire ends 1 mm from the knots.
