Cut the Plastic Canvas to the size of the surface to be covered on your spoon or other utensil. Try as much as possible not to cut the holes.

Many of you enjoyed the Coral Reef Bracelet tutorial using the magic carpet weaving technique, and even more of you preferred the simplified version. Although it's a totally different technique, or rather a totally different trick, from the initial weaving, the result is visually very similar! The magic carpet is made up of a square-stitch woven bead base, to which we add many loops of Seed beads and other pearls to give it a supplied look. A bit like a curly carpet. The simplified version uses plastic canvas as a base instead of square stitch beads. This creates a thinner weave and greatly reduces weaving time.
With this method, you can easily customize objects or pouches. The festive season is a good excuse to start customizing table accessories. This tutorial was produced for ADN plaisir de recevoir magazine on the theme of a magical Christmas. To end the meal on a poetic note and dazzle your guests, we suggest transforming a coffee spoon!
Please note, however, that this customization is not dishwasher-safe. If you're using the spoon to stir coffee, for example, make the weave shorter so that the coffee doesn't stain the beads and weaving thread.

Cut the Plastic Canvas to the size of the surface to be covered on your spoon or other utensil. Try as much as possible not to cut the holes.

Cut 1 m of thread and thread it on a needle and tie the end to one of the corners of your canvas cut. Thread two Miyuki 15/0 rocks, a PureCrystal spinning top, two Miyuki 15/0 rocks and then go through the third hole of the Canvas.

Go back into the second hole from below. Thread five rocks and go into the fourth hole. Then go to the third hole, put on five rocks and go to the fifth hole.

Continue to fill the entire Canvas in this way by adding a different colour top from time to time. You can iron several times in the same place if there is a hole and the plastic is still visible. When the canvas is completely filled and the plastic is no longer visible except on the sides, tie your thread to the back of the canvas.

Stick it on the small spoon and let it dry for 24 hours. Be careful, do not put your creation in the dishwasher, pass it under the tap with cold water if necessary.
