Today we suggest you make a pair of creole earrings in thread and macrame knots . And yes, this month the threads are in the spotlight and they are our theme for September.
For beginners in macrame, don't worry, this tutorial is a good way to get started. Only two knots are necessary to make this pair of earrings: the lark knot and the baguette knot . For those who wish to go further in the technique of macrame, discover our video: Learn the different basic macrame knots
The reputation of black and gold is well established, it is the perfect marriage to accompany all your looks: work, evening or occasion. But for a pair of earrings original ears you can of course choose other forms of Creole and other colors of macramé cord . You can also decide to decorate your earrings with pearls, charms or sequins according to your desires, or even to mix the colors of threads.
Find our video tutorial right away to follow the steps step by step. For those who prefer written explanations, find them below:
Step 1 : Cut 2 lengths of wire of about 20 cm. Cut 1 length of about 35 cm. Separate each strand into two equal parts by dividing the number of strands.
Step 2 : Secure the 4 threads of 20 cm obtained in the creole with lark knots. Secure the longer strand to the left end of the 4 knots already made. Be sure to place this thread so that you get the right length identical to the previous ones, and the left length much longer. This long wire will constitute the support wire.
Step 3 : With each thread, make chopstick knots on the support wire. Attention, this knot is done in two steps (see video).
You can also watch the DIY Macrame Coaster and Trivet video which uses the same technique.
Repeat this step with each of the wires.
Step 4 : Cut the end of the support wire and glue there to the back of the earring using Hasulith glue. Cut the remaining threads to the desired length. Paint the threads to flesh out a bit. Make the second earring. Your pair is finished!

So, pretty easy, isn't it?
