Personalize your office, bedroom or living room with this easy Japanese-inspired DIY paper . We used Rico Design's Japanese garden paper pad for our fans, but you can use many other designs for a different style. For example, make fans with neon summer patterns for a pop culture effect .
This tutorial does not require any special material other than a ruler, scissors, a cutter or scalpel to mark the folds, paper glue and string. It will add your personal touch to your room and decorate without having to fix nails to the wall . Be careful, however, to check that the fixed paste does not stain your wall, especially on the wallpaper. You can also try fixing them with double-sided tape on a painted wall.
Step 1 :
To make the largest 16.4cm circles, cut a 16.4x29.5cm rectangle. To do this, remove 4 squares plus the incomplete square the width of the sheet. The more you reduce the width of the sheet, the smaller the circle will be. It is not possible to make a circle much larger than 16.4 cm. The other circles are 14cm, 10.5cm, and 7.5cm wide. Remove about 7.7 cm in length from the smaller rectangles to prevent the folds from getting too close together.

2nd step :
On the back of the rectangles, lightly score the surface of the paper with a scalpel at the lines. This allows for perfect folds. Fold the rectangles into an accordion style.

Step 3:
Make a hole in the center with a drill or scalpel to pass a thread through and tie it off. You can also choose to tie a thread directly around it but it will have to be tightened in the center. Glue the two parts on each side to form the circle.

Fix them to the wall with double-sided tape or fixed paste by doing a test beforehand.
