How to make Chenille tubular weaving?

How to do tubular chenille weaving?

The Flat Chenille Stitch or flat Chenille stitch is a weave that resembles pondo stitch . If you do not yet know the pondo stitch, go to our technical sheet to understand this technique and its origin.

The Chenille stitch can also be made in a tube to create bracelets or necklaces. It is also available with and without borders. Here it is the borderless version. You can use 11/0 or 8/0 seed beads, half round Toho seed beads with normal seed beads, and many other types of beads. However, try to take pearls of the same proportion.

In this video tutorial we have used 11/0 Cedar and Light Terracotta delicas beads, 11/0 gold seed beads and 2 mm hematite beads . These hematite beads are available in other colors, especially in matt silver. You can also take other 2mm gemstone beads. This technique gives free rein to your imagination as to the choice of colors and pearls! However, take a thread that will not swear with the color of your pearls.

The beaded tube made using this technique is mounted on memory wire with a diameter of 65 mm. Memory wire is a wire that regains its shape when stretched and released. You have to cut it with a pair of snips as it is very hard and you risk damaging the blades of your wire cutters. Likewise for the round pliers, choose a solid one.

This wire is ideal for making bangles that do not deform or multi-wrap bracelets without ties. Here we only use one turn, but you could very well make tubular chenille stitch on two turns of the bracelet. In this tutorial we use 3 products which are also used in the tutorial Double Bangle Bracelet with Lapis Lazuli and Heishi stone . Why not kill two birds with one stone and try both tutorials?
