With the festive season drawing to a close and the New Year just around the corner, it's greeting card time ! Indeed, despite the digital age, the greetings card remains a customary way of wishing a happy new year.
We love to create them and we love to receive them. Every year, we try to be original and keep this beautiful tradition alive by sending personalized greeting cards.
So how do you make a greeting card this year ? Perhaps you've already figured it out? But if you're wondering what to do this year to wish your loved ones a happy new year, here are a few ideas that might help.
There are many ways to create a Happy New Year card. There are several elements to consider:
Now that you've got that in mind, let's move on to the many card designs you could make.
The trend is towards zero waste and eco-responsibility, so make a zero-waste greetings card. Reuse old buttons, pages from old books, scraps of fabric, dried oranges, scraps from a ball of wool, hobby materials left in a corner of the closet... Let your imagination run wild and create beautiful cards full of good wishes.
Even more trendy and poetic is the plantable greeting card, or how to recycle paper and then plant it. Simply tear the paper into small pieces in a blender, add water and blend until you obtain a homogeneous paste. Then add your seeds and a few dried flower petals for a nicely colored effect, mixing without blending. Spread the mixture out on a tray, place a tea towel over it and roll it out with a roller, leave to dry and your paper is ready.

Make gold or silver greeting cards using metallized transfer sheets, as in this tutorial on making cards with transfer sheets.
And if you're (a little) lazy or short of time and inspiration, choose our pretty, creative and original cards!
Now it's up to you! Which card will you fall for? :) Now all you have to do is send it! With or without envelope!
