You've probably seen theOeko-tex© certification logo on our product sheets (and you've probably seen it on your clothes too). But do you know exactly what it means?

It's an international association created in 1992. It brings together 18 independent research and testing institutes in Europe and Japan. This association of experts issues several certifications recognized worldwide for a period of one year, including three labels for consumers:
oeko tex© certification covers all players in the textile industry: producers, processors, distributors and traders. At each stage of the textile manufacturing process, tests are carried out on raw materials, finished products (clothing, household linen, etc.), accessories and ornaments (thread, buttons, fasteners, etc.) and intermediate products such as printed fabrics.
A fabric tested for substances harmful to the human body must comply with around a hundred control criteria. The closer the product is to the skin, the more stringent the test criteria. In all, over 300 substances are tested.
How do I know if a fabric is Oeko-Tex? To check whether your fabric's certificate is still valid, all you have to do is visit the Oeko-Tex website and enter the certificate code in the search bar.

Contrary to what you might think, the Oeko-tex© label does not mean that the fabric is organic.
For a fabric to be organic, it must be made from organically grown raw materials. A synthetic fabric, such as coated cotton, can therefore receive Oeko-Tex© certification, but cannot have an organic label such as the international Gots label or the French Ecocert label.
