How to polish a jewel?
How do I polish 925 Sterling Silver?
In this video, we present one of our jewelry tools: the polishing wheel. Artur Vilarnau, artisan jeweler, shows us how to use it, assemble the different polishing discs ( cotton, flannel...), use red polishing clay and white polishing clay, to polish jewelry. We took a 925 Sterling Silver charm, ring and chain.
Step 1: Deburring (not deburring!)
Step 2: Polishing
Step 3: Trimming
The result is stunning when you look at the before and after. He also gives his tips and tricks for using the tool properly.
The equipment used in this video can be found at the bottom of the page. We advise you to use protective leather fingerstocks to polish your jewelry.
Safety precautions: wear a protective mask and goggles, then remove your jewelry and tie back your hair before using the polishing tool.
You can use a polishing wheel for both jewelry and polymer clay to polish your polymer clay pieces. We'll show you how in a second video!
