This kit contains everything you need to make a brooch, just like the one in the photo. You'll need to buy some glue to attach the brooch to your woven piece.
Designed to be made using the brick stitch technique, this kit lets you create a bird-shaped brooch made entirely of Miyuki Delica 11/0 beads. We recommend applying several coats of Decopatch varnish to the back of the piece using a small brush to stiffen it and ensure it holds up well over time. Let it dry for a few hours between each coat.*
The finished brooch depicts a brightly colored bird. The 13-mm flat-backed brooch base, Fine gold plated, is attached to the back of the woven piece once it is complete. This kit does not include the glue needed for this attachment; be sure to purchase a type suitable for beads and metal bases.
This type of kit is ideal for getting started with brick stitch bead weaving without having to gather the materials yourself, or as a gift for someone who wants to discover this technique. For assembly, check out the brick stitch bird brooch tutorial, which provides step-by-step guidance on the process.
Whether you’re a beginner or have been beading for a long time, technical guides and tutorials are available on the website to help you every step of the way. You’ll find tips on choosing thread, managing tension, finishing the ends, and even the basic brick stitch techniques to help you progress at your own pace.
