What is Gold Filled?
Gold Filled is the mechanical treatment of a metal (often brass) with a layer of gold alloy of varying titration. The weight of gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product.
For the more inquisitive, we explain the differences between gold filled and gold plated, so you can choose the material that's right for you.
Much more resistant than conventional gold plating, a Gold Filled product will oxidize much more slowly.
If you want to further slow down the oxidation process, you should handle these components with gloves and avoid contact with perfumes, skin oils and lotions. You should also keep them in a dry, temperate place.
