Are you familiar with the trend?
Take a drawing of your little one and make a custom-made plush toy following his or her design, adding cotton stuffing and your safety eyes. This will make him the designer and you the creator.

How to fit safety eyes?
For a fabric design, it's best to make a small "incision" in the fabric beforehand, where you want to position the eye.
1. Sew into the crochet, under the four sides of the back cap, like a grid.
2. Thread is passed under the back cap and wrapped tightly twice around the stem.
3. The thread is passed between the melt and the back cap, and wrapped tightly twice around the stem.
4. The crocheted hood is sewn firmly and close to the back of the eye, all around the eye.
It's crucial that the eyes are firmly secured in the crocheted/knitted project. Over time, almost all threads become loose, and elastic threads that stretch can create openings. This increases the risk of the whole eye falling out if the assembly is not securely fastened to the stitches.

How to make a comforter?
We've put together a series of tutorials on how to make an Amigurumi, with something for everyone, from multicolored rabbits to minions.
And if that's not enough for you, Rico also offers books on how to make funny little animals out of wool or ricorumis.

Please note: this is not a toy. Be sure to check the fastening to prevent the eyes from coming loose.
