What is gold filled?
Gold filled is the treatment of a metal (often brass) by the mechanical application of a layer of gold alloy of varying titration. The weight of gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product.
For the more inquisitive, we explain the differences between gold-filled and gold-plated, so you can choose the material that's right for you.
Much more resistant than conventional gold plating, a gold-filled product will oxidize much more slowly.
If you want to further slow down the oxidation process, you should handle these components with gloves and avoid contact with perfumes, skin oils and lotions. You should also store them in a dry, temperate place.
Ideal for finishing your DIY costume jewelry.
Easy to use, simply place the bow and close it over the top with jewelry pliers.
