What is gold filled?

Gold filled is the treatment of a metal (often based on brass) by applying a mechanical layer of gold alloy of varying titration. The weight of gold alloy corresponds to 1/20 of the total weight of the product, i.e. around 50 to 100 times more than in a gold-plated product.

Much more resistant than classic gold-plating, a gold-filled product will oxidize much more slowly.
If you want to slow down the oxidation process even further, you should handle these components with gloves and avoid contact with perfumes, skin oils and lotions. You should also store them in a dry, temperate place.

The gold used in the manufacture of this product is recycled gold.
