This hard rubber pile will soon become the perfect tool for all your DIY jewelry projects done in your workshop!
It is the ideal tool to dampen, reduce vibration and noise when striking metal. Its non-slip surface ensures safe work for hammering and filing. Simply position it under the steel pile before shaping metal parts, flattening, shaping wire, stamping or punching.
For hammering and punching work we recommend to do it on one side of the steel tapping block and to do the flattening work on the other side.
To avoid marks on the pieces you are working on, there are several solutions:
- Place a piece of leather between the workpiece and the jeweler's block. This will prevent rubbing.
- Use self-adhesive anti-scratch films specially designed for this purpose. Simply place them on the jeweler's pile before starting to work.
- Another tip is to polish the piece once you have finished working on it, so that it regains its full shine. Ideal to have perfect pieces with a professional quality finish.
