What can I do with a stamp and Fimo clay? There are many uses for stamps on polymer clay. In this tutorial, we suggest you make a piece of jewelry in Fimo clay. And not just any piece of jewelry, but a brooch in the shape of a panda head. It will decorate a little sweater, brighten up the lapel of a jacket or personalize an accessory.
For this easy tutorial, we've chosen a panda head, but you can choose any shape you like from our range of ink pads. How about this mischievous little cat? Or this majestic toucan?
This technique is very easy to do, even for a beginner who's never made Fimo clay before. And, as you'll see, the result is quite stunning. The stamp pad leaves an imprint on the polymer clay, and all that's left to do is fill it with the liquid polymer.

Prepare a slab of dough with about 3 bars of 56 g white Fimo bread, using the thick notch of your dough machine.

You can place a little talcum powder on the rubber of your stamp to prevent the paste from sticking. Blow off any excess. Apply your pad to the white plate, pressing firmly and evenly.

Use a cutter to trim the panda head. You can then smooth the edges with your finger to remove any angular contours. Bake the panda at 120 degrees for 30 minutes.

Wait until your panda has cooled down, or run it under water to move on to the next step. Fill all the hollows with a few drops of black liquid Sculpey. Use a needle to spread the polymer into the corners. The polymer should be level with the white clay. Bake a second time at 130 degrees for 20 minutes. If the resistance of your oven is too close to the panda, the white may change color slightly. In this case, I recommend protecting your creation with a piece of baking paper.

Sand your panda with a thousand-grit fine abrasive to round off the edges and make the white really white. Sanding should be done under soapy water, so that any small particles that might fly into the air are trapped in the water. Don't scratch your creation by pressing too hard, making small circles all over the surface. Now rub your panda on denim or cotton to revive its colors and give it a matte appearance.
Place your brooch on the back of the panda using Hasulith glue. Leave to dry for half a day.
