How to make 3D flower earrings?

In this new beadweaving tutorial, our creative partner Sophie—aka Elyconia—teaches you how to make this beautiful pair of 3D flower earrings. This design is created using the simple brick stitch (drop 1) and multiple brick stitch (drop 4) techniques. Instead of weaving the beads one by one, you weave them four at a time. It’s not complicated at all. Just think of the four beads as a single, slightly larger bead.In the video, we’ll guide you through each step, providing detailed explanations and teaching you how to weave these beautiful earrings—perfect for summer.

However, familiarity with the brick stitch technique is recommended before starting this project, as you’ll need to control the tension and use dexterity to ensure the piece holds its shape and the petals are evenly spaced. This project involves some precise work. It’s best to tackle this project with focus and attention.

To make each petal, you can download the petal diagram, which includes the number of rows and the brick stitch pattern, to guide you. However, I strongly recommend that you follow this entire tutorial and slow down the video or pause it as many times as necessary.

We created these loops using Pantone®’s seasonal color trends: “Sunset Orange”and “Cassis Violet.” But of course, feel free to create and adapt your own color combinations, whether using two colors or mixing a wider range of colors on the petals. We have a wide selection of Delica beads on our website—feel free to choose your favorites. For the earring back, we recommend a hammered stainless steel circle, but you can, of course, opt for another style of stainless steel earring back.
