Discover or rediscover the quick and easy way to make pearl pompons. Thanks to this technique, you can make elegant ear rings in any color you like. Choose from hundreds of Miyuki 15/0 seed beads in different colors and effects to make beaded earrings. You can also use 11/0 seed beads or 11/0 Delica beads. If you change the beads, don't use much larger ones, as the wire used is not made for weaving. It's sewing thread. Why use sewing thread rather than weaving thread? Sewing thread is very light and supple, which makes for soft, flowing pearl bangs. If you use stiffer weaving thread, the bangs won't be straight. So watch out for knots! Other tips:
These dangling pearl earrings measure 7.5 cm overall. The pearl tassel measures 6 cm. The round faceted Preciosa crystal pearl can be replaced by another type of pearl, but make sure the hole is 1.2 mm. Cut 1 m of sewing thread. Thread the thread onto a needle. Thread a golden seed bead and fix it 20 cm from the end of the thread. To do this, pass the needle twice through the hole in the bead. A holding bead prevents the beads from slipping when threaded.
String 9 gold rocailles, 28 dyed blue zircon silver lined and 20 opaque Azure. Then thread a 6 mm round faceted pearl. Pass the wire protectors through the earrings, then tighten them with pliers. Pass the needle through the first tube of the wire guard, through the earring and into the second tube. Pass back through the 6 mm bead in the other direction and tighten.
String 20 Azur opaque seed beads, 28 dyed blue zircon silver lined and 10 golden seed beads. Then pass through all the beads threaded in this step, except the last gold bead. Thread through the 6 mm round bead and all thread protection.
Remove the holding bead. Place the needle on the other end of the thread and re-thread the gold bead. Thread through all the beads again, without going through the last gold bead you've just threaded. Pass through the 6 mm bead. Make a double knot with the two thread ends. Pass the thread through a few beads and cut.
Put the needle back on the long piece of thread. Make the other three beaded bangs. Thread 20 Azur opaque seed beads, 28 dyed blue zircon silver lined and 10 golden seed beads. Pass through the beads again without passing through the last gold bead. Pass through the 6 mm bead, the thread protector, the 6 mm bead and repeat a new fringe.
Once all five bangs are threaded, iron in the beads of one fringe, tie a knot, iron in a few more beads and cut the thread.
