String the beads following the grid. Start stringing at the top right, working your way to the left, line by line, from top to bottom. It is recommended that you do not string all the beads at once. Thread a piece of paper at the end of each row (to identify the rows when crocheting). Feel free to write the row numbers on it. The meshes are threaded on both sides, like the beads. To locate on the grid, the white boxes.
The crocheting is done in tight stitches. Start with the last beads strung, 6 dark blue R11. Make a magic circle, then make 6 tight stitches, without beads, around the circle, tighten and close with a cast-on stitch. Always make a stitch in the air at the beginning, to close the row. Make the first row by crocheting the first 6 beads.
For the 2nd row: make the first increases, crocheting twice in the same stitch (under the V) of the previous row. We have 12 beads.
For the 3rd row: crochet a normal bead then 2 beads in the last stitch. We have 18 beads, etc. The increases are always at the end of the point, and inside the work, it forms a line (circled in red). Continue like this for 14 rows.
The increases are over. We have 84 R11. On the photo above, you can see the lines of increases.
Your outside work should look like the photo above. Now crochet normally for 24 rows. For the 25th row, don't do an airmail at the beginning of the row.
For a nice finish, if you are not satisfied with the beginning of your work, you can put a cap. Remember to do this before you put the support ball in place.
Put your support ball inside and start decreasing. The decreases are made at the beginning of the point. Stitch your hook under the front strand (of the V) of the first stitch, then under the back strand (of the V) of the second stitch, 1 cast on, pull a stitch through both strands, then finish your stitch with a cast on and pull off. There are 13 rows of decreases. Tighten the work. Be careful not to break the yarn! Continue until you have only 6 beads left for the last round.
Stop your work and cut your yarn long enough (40cm) to be able to put a cap and some beads to make the attachment. On this ball I put the cap, then threaded 1 R6, 1 T6, 1 R6, 1 T6, 1 R6, 1 R8 then 15 R11 to make the loop.
There you go, your ball is finished! Good job!
