The molds can be used for both candles and soaps. However, to use the molds for candles, you will need to pierce the mold on both sides to insert the wick. Use the needle listed in the materials list for this.
A few recommendations before you begin:
Now that we've covered the important points, let's get to creating your candle.
Heat a pot of water that is the right size for the water bath container. A stainless steel pan is best. Fill the pan almost to the top with wax.
While waiting for the wax to melt, use a wool needle to pierce the center of the pan on the smaller side. Pass the wick through.
Also drill on the other side so that the wick stays straight in the candle.
Once the wax is completely melted, add your dye. Mix with a disposable wand or spatula. Take a few drops of the wax plus dye mixture and place on a sheet of scrap paper. Wait until it cools to get a sample of the color. If you find the color too light, add more dye. If the color is too bright, add wax to the water bath. Be aware that the color will be a little brighter than your sample.
When you are happy with the color, add a few drops of perfume and then gently pour the wax into the mold.
Let harden at room temperature. Wait 24 hours before unmolding. Cut the bottom wick. The purple candle was made with blue and red dye mixed together.
