Thanks to its special shape, this pie bag will allow you to transport your pie dishes horizontally and with one hand. No more problems transporting it from the car to the front door of your hosts.

Remember to put a cling film or, even better, a beeswrap over your pie dish to avoid staining the bag. You don't know the bees wrap? Go here to learn how to make your own and gradually go to zero waste: Make these own beeswrap to replace the cling film .

Follow the video step by step to sew your own bag to transport pies.

  1. Cut 1 rectangle of 40 x 80 cm in two different fabrics. Preferably take cotton poplin of 115g / m2
  2. Also cut 2 rectangles of 50 x 5 cm in each of the fabrics for the handles.
  3. Start by pinning the handles place on place and sew them in straight stitch 1 cm from the edge. Leave an opening of at least 6 cm.
  4. Cut the corners, open the seams with an iron and turn your handles over to reveal the front of the fabric.
  5. Iron and topstitch to 5 mm.
  6. Pin the large rectangles right sides together. Make a mark on the shortest sides at 11 cm and 29 cm. Pin the handles against these marks, the loop between the two pinned rectangles because you will turn the rectangles afterwards. Remember to put them in the same direction of the fabric on each side and not to roll them up. This is one of the most delicate steps.
  7. Sew all around in straight stitch 1 cm from the edge and leave an 8 cm opening.
  8. Cut the corners and open the seams with an iron, then turn the bag over.
  9. Iron the seams and topstitch the sides with the handles 3 mm from the edge.
  10. Fold the bag in half lengthwise to mark the middle.
  11. Fold both sides up to the mark and pin.
  12. Sew in straight stitch 3 mm from the edge.
  13. Add a bias if you wish to hide the seam of the two fabrics. Fold the edge of the bias and pin it right side up against the edge of the bag.
  14. Sew in the fold of the bias then turn it over. Position it at the same level as the bias on the other side of the fabric. Topstitch on the front 2 mm from the first seam of the kiss.
  15. Optionally add pompoms on the corners.
