Discover these original bamboo-shaped beads in this elastic bracelet tutorial. These are tube beads with a diameter of 5 mm. They are a little narrower in the center, giving them the appearance of bamboo pieces. These beads go perfectly with 5 mm gold flower rondelles and 6 mm round beads. They also come in an 8 mm diameter for those who prefer more imposing jewelry.
I chose to combine these acrylic tube beads with natural stone beads to give them an ethnic, bohemian style. The combination of the two materials works very well visually. The green tube beads have a marbled effect. The marbling of the jade and green tube beads contrasts with the opacity of the ivory, black and dark green tube beads. This gives the bracelets a lovely depth.
Wear these bracelets in any season with a plain blouse or dress. Because they're elastic bracelets, they're easy to make and put on by yourself. No need for jewelry clips! A few tips before you start:
The material list contains the quantity needed to make the 4 bracelets. If you have a wrist of 13 cm or less, you can take just one sachet of jade beads each to make the 4 bracelets, as well as 3 sachets of gold flower discs. However, for most people, you'll need to take the quantity indicated, i.e. 2 sachets of each type of jade bead and 4 sachets of golden flower rondelles.
Cut 30 cm of elastic thread without stretching it. Put a clothespin on the end of the wire to prevent the beads from falling out. String 1 tube bead, 1 flower washer, 1 6 mm bead, 1 flower washer. Repeat as many times as necessary. You'll need 7 strings for a maximum 13 cm wrist, 8 strings for a 15 cm wrist, 9 strings for a 17 cm wrist.
Nude and dark green tube beads are combined with green African jade beads. Marbled green and black tube beads are mixed with Bingshan Cui green jade beads.
To close the bracelets, tie a double surgeon's knot. To do this, wrap the wire twice around the other end. It's like a normal knot, but you wrap the wire twice instead of just once. Keep the bracelet on the table to prevent it turning and the knot coming undone.
Tie the knot again and tighten. Cut the wire ends to within 2 mm of the knot. Put glue on the knot and slide a tube bead over it to hide it and glue it inside the bead.
