How to weave Peyote Pair?
In this video tutorial, discover how to make a Miyuki Delica bead weaveusing the needle weaving technique known as Peyote. More precisely, this Miyuki weave is made using the Peyote Pair weaving technique. A Peyote weave is said to be odd or even depending on the number of beads in its width. Odd Peyote weaving requires an additional step. Here, our bead pattern is made up of two squares of seven beads each. There are therefore fourteen beads across. You can use this pattern to make wider bracelets. If you make three squares wide, you'll have twenty-one beads in the width, so it'll be an odd Peyote weave. If you make four squares, then you'll have twenty-eight beads across the width, and this will be a Peyote Pair weave. Peyote Pair weaving is a perfect technique for starting bead weaving without a loom.
However, you should only use Peyote Pair weaving grids, and loom weaving grids can only be used with a loom. It is not possible to convert the grids from one technique to another, as the beads are not placed the same way.
This weave is approximately 1.85 cm wide. A square is approximately 0.9 cm wide by 1 cm long. Fifteen squares in a row equals a weave 14.2 cm long. Make the weave the size of your wrist.
Hiilos clasps are interchangeable magnetic clasps. You can slide different bracelets onto them. They are available in 11 mm, 22 mm and 45 mm, in gold, silver, rose gold, black, white and other colors. They are lightweight, as they are made of ABS or plastic, depending on the finish. The weave in this tutorial can be worn on its own with the 22 mm clasp, or with a second bracelet with the 45 mm clasp. It's best to use Hiilos weaving tips compatible with the clasps. These are end pieces without rings. Some end pieces with rings are also compatible. Take a look at our other bracelets and weaves compatible with Hiilos clasps.
This bracelet fits a 14.5 cm wrist. If you wish to make it longer, you can take an extra bag of white flowers or simply add pearly beads on each side.
