To celebrate the release of Puca’s new 8mm glass cabochons, our partner designer Puca is sharing a series of new patterns to show you how to combine them with beads and create unique jewelry.
In this tutorial, you’ll learn how to create a beaded setting for an 8mm cabochon. You can then use the set cabochon as a base to create a variety of jewelry pieces. Puca offers two versions in particular: a pair of stud earrings (using a single cabochon) or a bracelet, for which you’ll need to combine a series of cabochon settings.
You can create many different versions depending on your preferences:
- a monochromatic version for a perfect color match between the cabochon and the seed beads
- two-tone version (as shown in this diagram) using gold- or silver-colored seed beads to highlight the cabochon
- multicolor version: use a different cabochon color for each setting
As you can see, there are no rules when it comes to creativity, so let your imagination run wild and, above all, have fun!
