Tutorial steps

Step 1
DIY Crocheted and embroidered amulet rings : Step 1

Make a magic ring with the turquoise yarn. Row 1 : Crochet 6 stitches . Row 2 : Double each stitch : you get 12 stitches . Finish with a cast-on stitch and cut the yarn.

Change to the white yarn, pick up the hook in any stitch and continue like this: Row 3: 1 stitch tight, 1 increase ...= 18 stitches. Row 4: 1 st, 1 increase, 2 sts, 1 increase...end with 1 st = 24 stitches. Make a cast on stitch, cut the yarn.

Now take the dark blue yarn, pick up the hook in any stitch and crochet as follows: Row 5: 3 sts, 1 aug...= 30 stitches. Row 6: 2 sts, 1 st, 4 sts, 1 st .... end with 2 sts = 36 stitches. End with a cast-on stitch and cut the yarn.

Step 2

Crochet another circle which will be the base of the ring with the dark blue cotton following the explanations of the 6 previous rows. You can work in a spiral pattern. DO NOT CUT THIS THREAD , it will be used to assemble the two parts. Tuck in the coloured threads.

Step 3

With the back of the first circle facing you, stitch the hook, bring the gold thread back to form a loop, re-stitch the hook forward, pull the gold strand through the loop and draw an oval around the turquoise part (you can also make this embellishment by sewing it with back stitches).

Step 4

Sew a black bead in the centre. Assemble the two circles by placing them inside out and stitching the hook into the back strand of the stitches, making 36 tight stitches. Add golden seed beads.

Step 5

Lift four stitches between rows 4 and 5 of the bottom of the ring and crochet three tight stitches, a throw. Turn the work over and continue until you have the desired finger turn. Sew between rows 4 and 5 on the opposite side. Congratulations, your ring is already finished.

Step 6

Variation: To obtain a more rounded ring, proceed as for the first one but join the two parts by crocheting the four strands of the stitches, not the back strands. Add some padding before crocheting the last six stitches. You can replace the central bead with a mini spacer and the outline yarn with gold yarn .
