Rose quartz and stainless steel slacking effect bracelet with Hiilos clasp

DIY: Create a multirow bracelet with Hiilos clasps

In this tutorial, learn how to make a multi-row bracelet mixing different materials. The soft pink of rose quartz combined with the rough and cold side of stainless steel gives a fresh effect, perfect to startthe beautiful flower season!

This bracelet is composed of a 22 mm Hiilos clasp and two links of 11 mm each. Each link contains 3 to 5 realizations for a very trendy slacking effect.

The advantage with these Hiilos clasps is that it is possible to mix the links with other realizations and other clasps of different sizes. A multitude of choices are available!

Tutorial steps

Step 1

First of all, it is important to calculate the size you need for your bracelet.

For that, measure your wrist (just below the malleolus).

You will simply take this measurement for the realization.

The clasp adds a little more than 1 cm of ease. If you like to wear your bracelets a little loose, you can add 0.5 cm to your starting measurement.

Example: If your wrist is 15 cm long and you don't like to wear your bracelets too tightly, you will have to make 15.5 cm long links. Your bracelet will then measure 16.5 cm with the clasp.

Step 2
  • A- Miyuki weaving link:

To make the weaving, you will need a loom.

Mount the warp threads as follows: using the silver silk thread, put up the threads of the ends and the middle row. This makes 4 rows of silver silk thread (#1, 3, 4 and 6). With the nylon thread Miyuki weaves the chain threads n°2 and n°5.

Weave the pattern according to the diagram below with the loom weaving method.

A : 0220

B : 0354

C : 1203

D: Cymbal flowers

E : 1500

A little detail when weaving the Cymbal flower: place the flower between the warp threads (n°3 and 4) where it should fit. Thread the first two beads of your line then pass your needle through the eye of the flower bead so that your needle passes under the warp threads. Do not hesitate to press a little on the flower to facilitate the passage of the needle. Then thread the last two beads and pass the needle back through the beads above the chain threads as usual.

Weave to the desired length and then stop your work by making double knots between the weft threads.

Secure your knots by adding Hasulith jewellery glue.

Hide the weft thread in your weaving.

Tip: to easily adjust the length of the bracelet, start weaving in the middle.

Step 3
  • B - Ball chain link:

Cut the chain to the desired length with a cutter.

Step 4
  • C - Miyuki beads and steel round beads link:

Cut a piece of C-lon wire to the desired length + 15 cm.

Make a double knot at the end of the wire. Then make a knot to centre your work.

String the beads in the order shown in the photo (8 miyukis + 5 round beads + 8 miyukis). I used DB-0220 and DB-1203.

Make a new knot to block the beads. Finally make a last double knot at the end of the link.

The length between the two double knots must correspond to the length calculated for the bracelet.

Step 5
  • D- Heishis beads link:

Cut a piece of C-lon wire of the desired length + 15 cm. Make a double knot at the end of the thread.

Thread the beads in the order shown in the photo (5 Miyukis DB-0220 then 3 heishis in quartz + 1 in hematite + 5 in quarters + 1 in hematite...). Arrived in the middle of the bracelet, double the heishis in hematite then go back to the mirror to finish the threading.

Finally, make a last double knot at the end of the link.

The length between the two double knots must correspond to the length calculated for the bracelet.

Step 6
  • E - Tie with leaf spacer and braid in silk thread and C-lon thread :

Cut twice the desired length + 10 cm in the silk thread and once in the C-lon thread (if your wrist measures 15 cm you will have to cut your threads to (15x2)+10 cm that is 40 cm).

Take the first silver silk thread, fold it in two to double it and pass the loop in the ring of the spacer. Finally, block the threads by passing them through the loop and tighten.

On the other side take the second silver silk thread with the C-lon thread. Fold them in half to double them and pass them through the ring of the spacer. Secure the threads by passing them through the loop before tightening. Now make a 3 branch braid (1 silver wire, 1 C-lon wire, 1 silver wire + C-lon). At each braid of the C-lon wire, place a round frosted rose quartz bead then a strawberry bead. I placed 6 in all. You can decide to place more or less. You can also do the same work on the other side. I like this asymmetrical side.

To finalize your tie, make a double knot at the end of the tie. The length between the two double knots must correspond to the length calculated for the bracelet.

Step 7
  • F - Miyuki Delicas bead link and puck beads:

Cut a piece of C-lon wire of the desired length + 15 cm. Make a double knot at the end of the wire. Thread the Miyukis beads randomly. The palet bead must be inserted in the middle.

Arrange the beads as follows (1 round quartz bead with frosted effect + 1 miyuki DB0220).

Finish the bracelet with the Miyuki stringing.

Finally make a last double knot at the end of the link.

The length between the two double knots must correspond to the length calculated for the bracelet.

Step 8
  • G - Link in faceted tube beads :

Cut a piece of C-lon wire to the desired length + 15 cm. Make a double knot at the end of the wire. Then make a knot to centre the beads. Thread the 5 faceted tubes. Make a new knot to block the beads.

Finally, make a last double knot at the end of the string.

The length between the two double knots must correspond to the length calculated for the bracelet.

Step 9
  • Assembly of the end caps :

For link #1 ( which includes A / B / C):

Pass the last row of the miyuki weave through the end cap. If you meet a little resistance, don't hesitate to spread the ends a little. Don't force it as you risk breaking a bead.

Thread a stitch of the ball chain and then the double knots of the Miyuki and steel bead link.

Tighten the ends if necessary and close them with a flat clip.

For the link n°2 ( which includes B / D / E / F / G):

Pass the double knots of the different links and the last link of the ball chain through the end cap. Close the ends.

Thread the ends in your clasp, and here is your bracelet multirangs is finished!

Elodie
