Bracelet glass beads Chevrons and cymbal beads

This bracelet is made up of different glass beads: chevron beads, diamonduo beads and small Miyuki Seed beads 15/0. They all come in different colors. Feel free to reinterpret this bracelet with your favorite colors. Cymbal primers are also available in silver.

Cymbal primers and Cymbal beads are metal products designed specifically for certain Czech glass beads. They adapt to the different shapes of these beads, enabling you to design all kinds of jewelry with ease. Some can be used as spacers, others as end pieces to finish off your bracelet in style, or some beads have exactly the same shape as their glass counterparts and replace them in a weave. This enhances the look of your beaded jewelry. Cymbal beads are also available for many other beads.

This bracelet is fairly simple to make, requiring only a little patience and attention to detail. You'll need to tighten the weave as you go along, without forcing it too much. It's all a question of dosage. If you don't tighten enough, your bracelet will be loose, and if you tighten too much, it will be twisted and lean to one side more than the other. You can also make it with Chevron beads only, but be sure to check beforehand whether a single sachet of beads will suffice. 1 sachet of Chevron beads contains 30 beads, equivalent to around 15 cm when placed in a row.

If your wrist is longer than 15 cm, take a second bag of Chevron beads.

Tutorial steps

Step 1
Bracelet glass beads Chevrons and cymbal beads : Step 1

Line up all the beads and primers on the table to measure the length of the bracelet. Adjust the number of beads. For example, in the photo, the length of the bracelet is about 14 cm, which is perfect for a wrist between 14.5 and 15 cm, as you still need to add the clasp and extension chain.

Step 2
Bracelet glass beads Chevrons and cymbal beads : Step 2

Cut a 50 cm piece of thread. Thread a Seed beads bead and pass through it 3 times with your thread and needle, so that the bead is locked on the thread 10 cm from the end. Then thread the bead through the tip, from the outside to the inside. The bead previously threaded will block the tip and prevent it from slipping. Thread the rest of the beads, paying careful attention to the direction. It will be much easier to place your work on a flat surface such as a table or tray, rather than suspended in mid-air, as at first the beads will only rotate non-stop.

Remember to add a 15/0 Seed bead on each side of the Diamonduo. Once all the beads have been strung on one side of the bracelet, thread the second end piece and a seed bead. Return to your starting point, passing through all the beads except the Seed bead you've just threaded. Tie the two thread ends together with a double knot, then iron them a third time through the previous 3 beads to hide them and cut off the excess thread.

Step 3

Repeat step 2 to attach the second side of the bracelet.

Step 4
Bracelet glass beads Chevrons and cymbal beads : Step 4

Open the ring of the spring clasp with two jewellery pliers and close it on the ring of one of the end pieces. If you don't know how to open a ring with pliers, you can take a look at our data sheet: How to open a ring for costume jewellery. With one ring open, add the extension chain on the other tip. Finish by adding the mini pompom at the end of the chain.
