How to make crochet frames? How to crochet around a circle? In this video you will learn how to make a round crochet frame with basic stitches like chain stitches, tight stitches and flanges. The work is done by surrounding a metal circle of small diameter but you can just as much use larger circles to vary the sizes. The wool used is that which is usually used to crochet small figures such as amigurumis, it is very soft and the colors are varied.

Step 1

Take a 4 mm hook, make a loop with the wire, slide the hook head into this loop and bring the wire through the loop. Tighten the loop, place the knot under the hook.

Stage 2 - 1st row

Place the circle against the hook and in front, stitch with your hook inside the circle to pull the thread, make a throw then pull the thread through the 2 loops, it is called a serée stitch. This way you have to go around the circle to completely cover the metal. Finish the first row with a slip stitch. The slip stitch is made by stitching the hook into a stitch, making another yarn throw and then pulling the thread through the 2 loops.

Stage 3 - 2nd row

Start the second row by making an air stitch also called chain link, make a yarn over (we pass the thread on the hook) and pull this thread through the loop which is already on the hook. Stitch your hook in the first stitch to make a tight stitch then make all the stitches this way. Finish with a slip stitch in the first stitch of the row.

Stage 4 - 3rd row

Start by making one stitch in the air then stitch your hook in the first stitch to make a tight stitch. Pass 2 stitches then stitch in the third stitch to make 5 double crochet in this same link. Pass 2 stitches, make a tight stitch, pass 2 stitches made 5 double crochet, continue to the end of the row in this way. Finish with a slip stitch, make a chain of 10 stitches, transplant the hook into your first stitch, cut your thread and tie a knot. Tuck in the 2 threads passing them between the stitches on the wrong side with a finer hook.

Explanations for making a bridle:

Make a throw, stitch the hook into the stitch, make a second throw then pull the thread through the stitch. Another throw and pull the thread through the first two loops which are on the hook, make another throw then pull the thread through the other two remaining loops.
