What is a screw-down collar button?
It's a sturdy, easy-to-install fastening system.
They are available with screws or rivets.
They are widely used in leather goods for bags, belts, etc.
It's made up of two parts: one is a rod with a base (the male part), the other is a rod with a ball on a base (the female part).
It's the ball that does the locking.
How do I install a screw-in collar knob?
The first thing to consider is the diameter of the ball stem.
This is 8 mm.
Drill a 3.5 mm hole in your leather band, using our perforating screwdriver.
Drill a smaller hole 10 mm apart to avoid tearing the material.
Make a long slot between each hole.
For the other rod (the one with the screw), drill a hole the size of its diameter and screw the two parts together.
